Before your appointment

  • You will receive an email or sms text reminder a couple of days before your appointment.  This will contain a link to our Patient Portal.  Click the link to complete the COVID-19 screening questionnaire and medical history update.

  • The COVID-19 screening and medical history update need to be completed before your appointment, so your cooperation in completing this online (at least 24 hours before your appointment) is much appreciated. 

  • The working day before your appointment, we will request payment over the telephone. (Non Denplan patients)

  • Make sure you pre-order any oral health products during this call. 


Preparing for your appointment

  • If you answer YES to any of the following questions please telephone us.  You MUST NOT ATTEND your appointment.

    • Been contacted by NHS Test and Trace or tested positive for COVID-19.

    • Waiting for a COVID-19 test or the results

    • Have a new continuous cough ?

    • Have a high temperature or fever ?

    • Experiencing a loss, or change to, sense of smell or taste

    • Living with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or has the symptoms in last 14 days.

    • Self isolating following a return to the UK from overseas.

  • Use your home bathroom before you attend !  Toilet facilities are not available.

  • The surgeries will be cool (especially during treatment appointments) as our PPE gets very hot !  Therefore you may wish to wear an extra layer.

  • If you have one, bring a charged mobile telephone with you.

  • By all means wear a face covering but don’t wear gloves.  We will be asking you to use alcohol hand gel at the entrance.

  • If you are assisting a patient (ie parent or carer) please bring a face covering, you will need to wear this whilst you are in the Practice.

Arriving for your Appointment

  • Please arrive promptly and by car if possible.  

  • We don't have as much flexibility as normal so if you arrive late we may have to rebook your appointment.

  • The entrance door will be locked and you will be unable to wait inside for your appointment, even if it’s raining !

  • On arrival, please either check-in using the portal link from the reminder email/sms  OR telephone reception on 0161 439 2048.

  • Please wait in your car.

  • Please leave ALL your personal belongings (coats, bags etc.) in your car. 

  • You must attend alone (a carer or parent for a child will be permitted).

  • When we are ready, you will be beckoned to the door.  Our team member will be wearing full PPE.

  • Before you enter the Practice, we will confirm the above COVID-19 questions again and take your temperature.

  • Only if you answer no to all questions and your temperature is below 37.8o will you be permitted to enter.

  • You will be instructed to use alcohol hand gel and shown straight into the surgery.

  • Clinical team members will be wearing full PPE.

  • Your appointment will continue as usual.

  • Communication may be difficult with the types of PPE we are wearing.

  • Your dentist may telephone you after the appointment to continue any discussions.

  • At the completion of your appointment you will be asked to use the hand gel and shown straight out of the Practice.

  • Our reception is now a “no contact” area, any follow-up appointments will be made either in the surgery or later by email/telephone.

  • Estimates for future treatment will be emailed.
