Weekly Round Up - 10/02/2022
Open Waiting Room
Now the waiting room has re-opened we just need to be aware of a few things :
Confidentiality - please be aware of what you say and where !
Lunchtimes - It is likely, particularly if you are on a late lunch, that patients may be in the waiting room while you are on your lunch break. We can discuss our lunch timings at the practice meeting on 3 March.
Kitchen Door - please shut the kitchen door so the hygienist patients can't see in as they walk past.
Personal Valuables - lock your valuables in a locker and carry the key with you.
Patient Contacts
Just a reminder to record every patient contact using the telephone icon on the contacts tab. For example, the reason a patient cancelled, why they haven't paid, if they don't want to book hygienist etc. Also, record details of any voicemail message you leave for a patient. This really helps if another colleague deals with a query and when we run our recalls.
Appointment Cancellation
When cancelling/moving an appointment, please make sure you COPY the original appointment to the clipboard, then cancel it and book a new one. Please don't drag the original appointment to the clipboard, this removes it from the appointment audit trail and can lead to confusion.
New Patients
All patients who contacted us prior to 1/10/21 have been offered a new patient consultation.
Generally, the next couple of months are looking busy so new patient consultations have been paused again. We will review this monthly. In the meantime, continue to use the waiting list for new enquiries but don't provide any time frames for appointments, it is difficult to predict.
Chris/Mike may offer a new patient consultation to family members of existing patients if asked - they will give the ok for reception to book these.
