Staff meeting 20/04/2022
Hi Everyone- This is Mandy not Michelle - still working out how to change the name on Wix !
I will try and get back on track with the weekly round up's from next month.
Just a few notes from today's staff meeting.
Staff meeting 20/04/2022- CN, MC, ML, ZT, NH, RAS present
Thank you for bearing with me over the last 3 weeks. I’ve still only scratched the surface with my new role but I’m learning all the time and hopefully once we’re fully staffed again, I can get on with all the tasks.
Thank you for any extra sessions you have covered.
Staff changes
- We have a new nurse, Michelle, starting on 09/05/2022. Michelle will work all day Monday (with MC), Wednesday (with MC) and Friday (with CN).
- Becky has been promoted to Lead Nurse (well done Becky!) and will now also work on Tuesdays- she will have a clinical admin session every Friday morning.
- I will be here all day Monday- Thursday- I will be working with MC all day on Thursdays.
- Rachel is changing to 2 days per week- Monday and Tuesday.
- Sarah is changing to all day Wednesday and Thursday and most Friday mornings.
Hyg
- Barbara will be starting her Tuesday afternoon sessions in 17/05/2022. Please book up from the start of the session onwards.
FTR list
- Following on from the last meeting, Zoe has noticed the FTR list for last month was considerably shorter. Well done- keep TC’ing !!
New Patients
- Our new patient list is still closed. We can add family and friends to the waiting list (mark as priority 1) but the waiting time is still several months. We have recently sent out some invites to the people who have been waiting the longest, to book an exam in June. There is a pop up note on these records.
Surgery/Decon logs
- Over the next few weeks, Becky and I will be reviewing the surgery and decon logs and there will be some minor changes- watch this space!
Covid
- if a patient calls to tell us they have had Covid positive contact, we must check they have done a negative LFT within the last 24 hours and they are symptom free. We can then go ahead with the appointment. If they call to say they are unwell ie. cough/cold, we need to assess whether they are well enough to come and again they need to produce a negative LFT.
- Staff members, as per the NHS/ BDA guidelines, if we test positive, we must stay off work for 5 days. We can return to work after 2 consecutive negative LFT results (taken at least 24 hrs apart), with the first LFT taken 5 days after the day the symptoms started or the day their first positive result was taken.
Fire Drill
- We briefly went over the fire drill procedure. Just to recap-
Anyone discovering a fire must immediately give the alarm by shouting FIRE or sounding the panic button on the security alarm at reception.
Surgery 1 (MC) – responsible for their surgery and decon area
Surgery 2 (hyg) – responsible for their surgery and kitchen/staff area
Surgery 3 (CN)- responsible for their surgery, bathroom and cellar.
Reception- responsible for reception/office area and waiting room.
All persons present in the building to be evacuated immediately to far end of car park. Personal possessions to be left behind.
