Weekly Round Up - 13/01/22
Stock Deliveries
At the moment stock deliveries are coming in various boxes and at different times, often without invoices. It's getting quite difficult to work out what has been delivered and what we are still waiting for.
So, please wait for a delivery to be checked by Mandy, Becky or Michelle before unpacking.
When unpacking please use the stock order sheet to cross reference and mark off all items received. Any backorders need to be written on the sheet pinned to the noticeboard.
For small deliveries, please don't forget to update the backorder sheet.
Treatment Estimates
Receptionists should make sure a treatment estimate is emailed to the patient. Please double check and add an estimate to your appointment confirmation email if necessary.
Decon Weekly / Monthly Tasks
There are a few decon tasks that are being routinely missed.
Autoclaves Door Locks & Microswitch check - these are very simple, does the door open and close properly, can you start a cycle with the door open ? These should be performed at the beginning of the working week.
Autoclave Internal Wipe Down - just give the inside a quick wipe (DO NOT USE an alcohol wipe).
General Cleaning of Cupboard Fronts, Skirting board capping etc
These tasks should be completed on/by Thursday each week, so if you have a moment spare please check what is outstanding.
Also, remember that expiry dates of instruments stored in decon need to be checked and re-processed if necessary EVERY MONTH.
2022 Holidays
When requesting a holiday can we try requesting it via Sling. It will be easier to track !
On the app, select Shifts, click on the three vertical dots at the upper right of the screen and select Request Time Off. Once a request has been received, the paper record will be updated. From next week any requests received will be listed on the weekly round up so everyone knows exactly what is available and hopefully we can avoid clashes. Remember to request your time off before you book with a third party.
2021 Appointment Analysis
During 2021 we provided 7279 appointments. In 2019 we provided 8600 appointments so we aren't back to pre-covid levels. As chair usage has remained the same, the main reason for this was fallow and the increase in appointment times (hygienist to 30 mins and exams to 20 mins).
FTA rates remain static at 1.3%, but still equates to 45 hours of wasted clinical time during 2021. We will continue to telephone remind all treatment appointments.
We have seen 260 new patients during 2021. 68 of these were from Stephen Davies. In 2020 we saw 132 new patients.
