Present CN, MC, ML, ZT, NL, NH, NR, LS, OC, SB.
Reception
- Estimates- if sending additional estimate, please make it clear on email what the estimate covers e.g. if some of treatment has been completed. Please look at previous estimates and try not to overlap- we have had some confusions lately.
- Denplan Ess. contracts/TW consent- try and get ready the day before and put with the day lists ready for the next day.
- Clinipad- when getting Clinipad signed, ask patients to pay particular attention to their list of medication and also if their emergency contact is still correct, or if we see it is incorrect, delete and get new one- this has been highlighted by recent bereavement.
- Hyg availability - we have opened 1230 appts for NR until end Oct, we will review again Mid Oct, NR also doing extra session today. Please keep adding to SNC as we are still getting plenty of cancellations.
- Please close pop-up notes when no longer relevant.
- New pt packs- we are going to order some Arundel Dental pens and/or shopping trolley tokens for the new pt packs.
Clinical
- Hyg suction- this is a bigger job than we anticipated, as well as the replacement motor, we need the pipework replaced. We are looking at having a temporary solution in place by end of the week/ Monday at the latest- I will know more tomorrow or Friday morning and I will keep you all updated.
- Autoclaves- Eschmann have got in contact and want to retain our service contract so they sent a senior engineer to look over and service both machines and he then came out again and changed the electronics on the Little Sister- they said both autoclaves are in good condition and should have a good few years left in them so we are giving them another chance- with the hyg suction now going possibly a blessing.
- Advice from Eschmann- when autoclaves have finished, leave door wide open and try not to put them back on for 3-4 mins. Also, after oiling handpieces- they only need a very little squirt of oil- stand them upright while you clean the rest of your instruments (little tub by autoclave) then give them a further wipe to remove any excess oil from the outside of the handpieces. This will prolong the life of the autoclave.
- CN/MC have digital scanners arriving early October- these need to be looked after very carefully as they are super expensive. (£20,000 +). There will be further training after they have been installed.
- Stock- when getting stock esp. from the cellar, please use open boxes/packets of stock first.
- Hyg surgery spittoon- watch out for pink dribble lower down near the floor.
- Upstairs toilet- P** on the underneath of the seat- please can we not have this happening.
- Cement on flat plastics, garrison and RD clamps- use magnifying light to check before processing.
- Previous medical conditions – The hygienists cannot see patients for 6/12 following heart surgery, heart attack and stroke and 3/12 following joint replacement. If this becomes apparent at reception, please do not
book in with hyg’s.
